A public platform shaping the relationship between culture, artificial intelligence, and society — through dialogue, responsible innovation, and consensus.
Culture is at the centre of Europe's identity. Technology is reshaping the conditions in which culture is created, shared, and experienced.
Culture and artificial intelligence are becoming inseparable. AI can expand access, unlock new forms of expression, and transform the way cultural work is produced and distributed.
At the same time, its development raises fundamental questions about creative agency, authorship, cultural diversity, responsibility, and the future of human expression.
These questions are no longer confined to specialist debates. They shape public policy, markets, institutions, communities, and the everyday experience of society.
We see culture as central to human development in a post-material world — and technology as a force that, when stewarded responsibly, can make culture accessible, productive, and meaningful at a planetary scale.
We connect people and perspectives that are too often separated: artists and developers, institutions and entrepreneurs, researchers and communities, policymakers and practitioners.
Not to eliminate tension.
But to make it productive.
The Alliance works at the intersection of public dialogue, practical production, and education. We turn fragmented perspectives into meaningful agendas, experiments, and frameworks for action.
Three interconnected directions form the foundation of our activities.
We support experiences, formats, and languages that neither culture nor technology could produce alone.
We advocate for technology development rooted in imagination, ethical thinking, autonomy, and responsibility.
We work towards conditions in which creators can sustain, develop, and amplify their work and cultural contribution.
We value productive tension, diverse perspectives, and the search for mutually acceptable solutions.
“We do not seek to make every voice identical. We seek to make different voices heard — and able to work together.”
Culture–technology relations affect an entire ecosystem. The Alliance brings together those who create, develop, fund, research, regulate, experience, and care about culture.
Artists, writers, musicians, designers, performers, and creative practitioners.
AI developers, technology companies, researchers, and infrastructure builders.
Museums, theatres, festivals, cultural organisations, archives, and educational institutions.
Founders, cultural entrepreneurs, investors, and organisations developing new models.
Scholars and experts in culture, technology, economics, ethics, and society.
Public authorities, regulators, advocacy groups, and organisations shaping the public interest.
People who engage with culture, participate in it, and shape its future through their choices.
Anyone bringing a relevant perspective, question, experiment, or constructive challenge.
Culture gives technology meaning.
Technology gives culture new possibilities.
The Alliance is initiated by the people behind CultTech — a team with experience building connections between culture, technology, entrepreneurship, and society.
Our work is grounded in the understanding that complex challenges cannot be addressed from a single perspective. We bring together different forms of expertise to create conversations that lead somewhere.
The Alliance is being developed as an independent, non-profit organisation based in Vienna, Austria, with an international outlook.
We are building a platform for people who believe that culture and technology need not exist in opposition.
If you have a perspective, a question, a project, or a reason to participate, we would like to hear from you.
